FOXcore GUARD 308L-T1 is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth, and the rutile core keeps the arc soft in constrained positions. The wire is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
- Classification EN ISO: 17633-A, T 19 9 L P M21 1
- AWS classification: A5.22 / SFA-5.22, E308LT1-4
After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture.
