FOXcore GUARD 316L-T1 is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth, the core gives a fast freezing pool and slag that lifts easily, and the arc stays calm in constrained positions.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions.
