FOXcore P92 RC is a low-alloyed, creep resistant flux-cored wire of the rutile type for tempered 9 to 12 % chromium steels.
Parent materials are 1.4901, ASTM A 213 and ASTM A335. The wire does well on pipe welding, fill passes included, on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection, the deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature, and the rutile core keeps the arc calm in constrained positions.
- Classification EN ISO: 17634-B T Z CrWMo9VNb P M21 1
- AWS classification: A5.29 / SFA-5.29 E91T1-GM
- Shielding gas: M21
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are the basic protection against cold cracking. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
