Thermanit 21/10 N is a high alloyed submerged arc (SAW) wire, heat and creep resistant. It works on pressure vessels, pipework and austenitic steel structures where corrosion resistance matters.
The wire works as a set with a matched flux, which decides the mechanical properties of the weld. Its deposit resists heat and creep, and the wire is used on process installations, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: 14343-A S 21 10 N
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Watch the wire stick-out and the position of the head against the weld centre line, under a flux you cannot see the pool and a mistake shows only after the slag is chipped off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld.
