Thermanit MTS 3 is a low-alloy, creep resistant TIG rod. It works in power plant, on superheaters, headers and pressure pipework in chromium molybdenum steels.
The rod suits grades such as 1.4903 and 1.4955. Its deposit resists creep at elevated temperature.

Do not interrupt welding and do not let the joint drop below the interpass temperature before the fill is finished. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
