Union Al Si 12 is a TIG rod for welding aluminium and its alloys. It is used in transport, in the food industry and in structures that have to resist atmospheric corrosion.
The rod suits grades such as AlSi7Mg0 and AlSi9Mg. It covers root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face, along with frames, tanks, housings and light aluminium structures, and TIG gives you full control over the heat input.

Push the torch and keep the wire path in the feeder short and straight, aluminium coils up easily in the liner. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance.
