Union MoNi is a low-alloyed, high-strength solid wire. It suits welding quenched and tempered high-strength steels in machine building, crane structures and commercial vehicles.
It joins grades such as S460N, S460M, S460NL, S460ML, S460Q, S555Q and S460QL together with their equivalents, fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas.

Keep the hydrogen level low: dry consumables, a clean groove and preheating on greater thicknesses. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
