Thermanit MTS 911 is a low-alloyed, creep resistant solid wire. It suits welding CrMo steels on boilers, steam lines, refinery plant and parts working at elevated temperature.
Typical parent materials are 1.4901 and ASTM A213. The deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature, and the wire works in power generation, on superheaters, headers and pressure piping in chromium molybdenum steel.

Do not break off welding and do not let the joint cool below the interpass temperature before the fill is finished. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. The gas choice affects the shape of the face and the amount of spatter, so keep to the mixture given in the classification.
