What Thermanit MTS 3-LNi solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Thermanit MTS 3-LNi is a low-alloyed, creep resistant solid wire. It suits welding CrMo steels in boiler, pressure vessel and petrochemical plant construction.

It joins materials such as 1.4903 and 1.4955. The deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature, on boilers, steam lines, refinery plant and parts working in the heat.

Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
