UTP A 6222 Mo-3 is a solid wire in a nickel alloy of the NiCrMo-3 type, for corrosion resistant NiCrMo alloys of the 625 group. It goes into tanks and pipework made of nickel alloys, and into cladding layers on steel.
The wire handles manual semi-automatic work and mechanised stations alike. It also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 6625 (NiCr22Mo9Nb)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ER NiCrMo-3
- Shielding gas: I1, I3
- Diameters: 0.9 / 1.0 / 1.14 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
- Approvals: ABS, BV, LR
Degrease the joint before welding, because sulphur and lead residues left after machining cause hot cracking in nickel. Set the gas flow so the pool stays covered along the whole bead, and screen the workstation when you weld outdoors. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets wire feeding and leads to burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
