UTP A 80 Ni is a solid wire in a nickel alloy of the Ni-1 type with excellent corrosion resistance. It goes into tanks and pipework made of nickel alloys, and into cladding layers on steel.
The wire handles manual semi-automatic work and mechanised stations alike, and it suits cladding runs on steel. You will also find it on boilers and pressure vessels covered by statutory inspection, welded under shielding gas with continuous feeding.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 2061 (NiTi3)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ER Ni-1
- Shielding gas: I1, I3, Z-ArHeHC-30/2/0.05
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (00950), ABS
Move the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow to the groove edges on their own. Set the gas flow so the pool stays covered along the whole bead, and screen the workstation when you weld outdoors. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets wire feeding and leads to burnback.
