UTP A 80 M is a solid wire for nickel copper alloys such as NiCu30Fe or NiCu30Al. It works on boiler components, furnace parts, chemical installations and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from the torch of a semi-automatic set. It also suits cladding runs, that is protective layers built up on steel.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 4060 (NiCu30Mn3Ti)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ER NiCu-7
- Shielding gas: I1, I3, Z-ArHeHC-30/2/0.05
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (00250), ABS
Move the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow to the groove edges on their own. Match the feed rolls to the wire diameter and inspect the liner, wire slip shows up at once as an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a stick-out drops the arc voltage and worsens penetration. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner wires are easier to control out of position.
