UTP AF 068 HH is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core for welding nickel alloys. It works on boiler and furnace parts, chemical plant and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
Typical parent materials are NiCr15Fe, 1.4583, 1.4876, 1.4859 and 1.0562. The wire also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, and the slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth.
- Classification EN ISO: T Ni 6082 R M 3
- AWS classification: ENiCr3T0-4
- Diameters: 1.2 / 6.1 mm
Keep the interpass temperature low and limit weaving, nickel is sensitive to hot cracking. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
