UTP ROBOTIC 257 is a metal-cored wire for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion. It rebuilds shafts, rollers, screws, blades and surfaces working under abrasion.
The wire leaves only silicate islands instead of a full slag layer, which shortens the cleaning time between passes. Its seamless construction limits moisture pick-up in the core and keeps the hydrogen level in the weld low.
- Classification EN ISO: T Fe 9
- AWS classification: MSG 7-GF-250-KP
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner wires are easier to control out of position.
