UTP ROBOTIC 603 is a seamless, gas-shielded metal-cored wire alloyed with Cr, Mo, W and V, for abrasion and moderate stress resistant surfacing up to 550 degrees C under an Ar/CO2 shielding gas.
The wire leaves only silicate islands instead of a full slag layer, which shortens the cleaning time between passes. Its seamless sheath protects the core against moisture even after long storage, and it suits protective layers built up on steel. Previously sold as UTP AF ROBOTIC 603.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe 8
- AWS classification: 8555 MSG 3-GF-60-ST
- Shielding gas: M21
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.4 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 61 HRC
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage.
