WEARcore 741-O is a self-shielded cored wire that deposits a ferritic martensitic steel with 13 % chromium, 5 % nickel and 1 % molybdenum, made to resist metal to metal wear, corrosion and thermal fatigue cracking.
The shielding comes from the core, so no cylinder or regulator is needed at the station. The deposit resists corrosion and thermal fatigue of the surface, and the wire is used on repairs of farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machine components.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe7
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 5-GF-45-C
- Shielding: self-shielded, no shielding gas
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.4 / 2.8 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 43 HRC
Remove the fatigued and hardened top layer before hardfacing, an overlay laid on worn material chips off. Check the polarity before you start, self-shielded wires often run differently from solid wires. Keep the stick-out recommended for self-shielded wires, too short a one spoils the pool shielding and causes porosity. Previously sold as SK 741-O.
