WEARcore Dur 58 Nb-S is a submerged arc cored wire designed to deposit a crack free martensitic alloy. It is used on farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machinery.
The wire is used on mechanised stations, on butt welds in plate and circumferential welds on tanks, and it works as a set with a matched flux that decides the mechanical properties of the weld. Previously sold as SK 258 NbC-SA.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Z Fe2
- AWS classification: 8555 UP 5-GF-300
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
- Hardness of deposit: 60 HRC Record SA
Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld. Keep an even flux layer over the arc, too thin a layer exposes the arc and too thick a one spoils the bead shape.
