WEARcore Tool 50 Co-S is a special submerged arc cored wire made to resist metal to metal wear, fatigue, oxidation, cavitation and corrosion at high temperature.
The wire is used on mechanised stations, on butt welds in plate and circumferential welds on tanks, and submerged arc welding gives a very high deposition rate on long, repeatable welds. Previously sold as SK D35-S.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Z Fe7
- AWS classification: 8555 UP 5-GF-50-CT
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
- Hardness of deposit: 47 HRC Record SA Record SR
Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Watch the wire stick-out and the position of the head against the weld centre line, under a flux you cannot see the pool and a mistake shows only after the slag is chipped off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld.
