3Dprint AM 2205 is a high-alloyed duplex stainless solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing.
It is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, by hand and on mechanised stations, and it also serves in WAAM additive manufacturing. Typical work is the chemical, pulp and paper and marine industries, on parts loaded both mechanically and by corrosion.

Watch the heat input and the interpass temperature, overheating duplex upsets the ferrite to austenite balance in the weld. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
