BÖHLER CN 22/9 N-IG is a solid MIG/MAG welding wire for duplex and superduplex steels. It goes on tanks, pipelines and chemical or marine structures that need strength and corrosion resistance at the same time.
Among the parent materials it covers 1.4462, 1.4362, 1.4583, P235GH, P265GH, S255N and P295GH. The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations.

Watch the heat input and the interpass temperature, overheating duplex upsets the ferrite to austenite balance in the weld. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion.
