3Dprint AM 46 is an unalloyed solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing. It also welds mild and low-alloy steels on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, both by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations.

On thicker parts and in a cold workshop plan preheating to cut the risk of cold cracking. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
