Avesta 2507/P100 is a solid MIG/MAG electrode wire. It suits welding duplex and superduplex steels and works on chemical plants, desalination units, tanks and offshore structures in duplex steel.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, both by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations.
- Classification EN ISO: G 25 9 4 N L
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Do not quench the joint with water and do not force the cooling, too fast a cooling rate leaves too much ferrite in the weld. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
