Avesta LDX 2101 is a solid MIG/MAG welding wire for duplex and superduplex steels. It is used in the chemical, pulp and paper and marine industries, on parts loaded both mechanically and by corrosion.
The typical parent material is 1.4162. The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, on tanks, pipelines and chemical or marine structures that need strength and corrosion resistance at the same time.
- Classification EN ISO: G 23 7 N L
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Protect the root and keep the gas coverage complete, oxidised zones in duplex are where pitting corrosion starts. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
