BÖHLER A 7-IG / A 7 CN-IG is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations. The deposit keeps its toughness in the cryogenic range, so it goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases, and it also serves for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion.
- Classification EN ISO: G 18 8 Mn
- AWS classification: ER307 (mod.)
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
