BÖHLER alform® 960-IG is a low-alloyed, high-strength solid wire. It suits welding quenched and tempered high-strength steels in machine building, crane structures and commercial vehicles.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, both by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations.

Do not exceed the permitted interpass temperature, an overheated heat affected zone loses its toughness. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
