BÖHLER CAT 439L Ti-IG is a high-alloyed ferritic stainless solid wire. It is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
Typical parent materials are 1.4510, X3CrTi17, 1.4016, X6Cr17, 1.4502, X8CrTi18 and AISI 439. The deposit has a ferritic structure, and the wire is fed continuously under shielding gas in tank building, process piping and chemical or food equipment.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind.
