BÖHLER CN 13/4-UP is a submerged arc (SAW) wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, pipework and austenitic steel structures where corrosion resistance matters.
The wire suits grades such as 1.4317, 1.4313, 1.4407 and 1.4414. The low hydrogen level in the deposit reduces the risk of cold cracking.
- Classification EN ISO: S 13 4
- AWS classification: ER410NiMo (mod.)
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.0 mm
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld. Keep an even flux layer over the arc, too thin a layer exposes the arc and too thick a one spoils the bead shape. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
