BÖHLER DMO TI-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire for creep-resistant CrMo steels. It works in power generation, on superheaters, headers and pressure piping in chromium molybdenum steel.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth. The wire does well on pipe welding, fill passes included, on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection and in boiler, pressure vessel and petrochemical plant construction.
- Classification EN ISO: T MoL P M 1 H10
- AWS classification: E81T1-M21PY-A1H8
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
