BÖHLER EML 5 is a TIG rod for mild steel, including fine grained grades. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on plain carbon steel.
The rod joins grades such as P235T1, P355T1, L290MB, P235GH, P265GH, P295GH and P310GH, along with related materials. It suits root runs in particular.

On heavier sections and in a cold workshop plan the preheating, so that the risk of cold cracking stays down. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
