BÖHLER FF-IG is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used on process installations, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
The rod joins grades such as 1.4828, 1.4826, 1.4833, X12CrNi23-13, 1.4713, 1.4724 and 1.4742, along with related materials. It is used on boilers and pressure vessels under statutory inspection, and on structures in contact with water and steam.
- Classification EN ISO: W 22 12 H
- AWS classification: ER309 (mod.)
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 mm
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
