Thermanit L is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process installations, food and chemical industry equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld, and you feed the filler into the pool by hand. The rod is used on process installations, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Do not hold the joint hot longer than you need to, the structure expands and pulls out of shape.
