BÖHLER FFB-IG is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process installations, food and chemical industry equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
Base materials include 1.4841, 1.4845, X8CrNi25-21, 1.4828, 1.4840, 1.4846 and X40CrNi25-21. The deposit keeps its impact toughness down to cryogenic temperatures, and the rod is used on boilers and pressure vessels under statutory inspection.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance.
