BÖHLER FOX CN 13/1 is a basic coated electrode of the E Z 13 1 B type for welding similar corrosion resistant, martensitic and martensitic ferritic rolled, forged and cast steels. Alloying with nickel improves the ductility of the deposit.
The base materials are 1.4000 (X6Cr13), 1.4002 (X6CrAl13) and 1.4006 (X12Cr13). The corrosion resistance of the deposit matches 13Cr and 13CrNi steels of a similar composition. The slag detaches very easily, the bead comes out smooth, and welding runs in all positions except vertical down.
- Classification EN ISO 3581-A: E Z 13 1 B 6 2

- Lengths: 450 mm
- Approvals: CE
Martensitic steels harden in the heat affected zone, so preheat the part and hold the interpass temperature to the grade and thickness, then temper after welding as the design requires. Dry basic electrodes to the maker data sheet, hydrogen in such a joint is more dangerous than on austenitic steel. Weld on direct current with the electrode positive and a short arc.
