BÖHLER FOX DCMS Kb is a core wire alloyed covered electrode with a basic coating for manual arc welding. The deposit with 1 percent chromium and 0.5 percent molybdenum has a bainitic structure and good mechanical properties in the tempered and in the quenched and tempered condition, and under defined conditions use without post weld heat treatment is permitted.
The base grades are 1.7335 (13CrMo4-5), 1.7262 (15CrMo5) and 1.7728 (16CrMoV4). The approval covers service under creep conditions at design temperatures up to 570 degrees C. A small content of residual elements gives a Bruscato factor usually below 12 ppm, which means resistance to temper embrittlement and compliance with the requirements of the step cooling test. The metal recovery is 115 percent.

13CrMo4-5 is the boiler steel most often met in this group, so keep the parameter sheet at hand and do not change the settings while working. Match the preheat to the wall thickness, and on thin tube do not overdo the current. Carry out stress relieving when the documentation calls for it, because the cases without heat treatment are strictly defined. Take the electrodes from the quiver one at a time and do not put them down on cold plate.
