BÖHLER FOX E 308 H is a rutile basic coated electrode of the E 19 9 H R / E308H-16 type for welding creep resistant CrNi alloyed austenitic stainless steels such as 1.4948 / 304H. The service temperature reaches 700 degrees C.
The maker names grades 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), 1.4541 (X6CrNiTi18-10) and 1.4550 (X6CrNiNb18-10). The controlled ferrite content is 3 to 8 FN and the deposit resists embrittlement and scaling. Welding runs very well in all positions except vertical down.

- Lengths: 300 and 350 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (11178), CE
The H grade carries a higher carbon content, which builds the creep resistance, so do not mix it with an L grade when the joint works hot. The controlled 3 to 8 FN also has to be held, and the simplest way is to limit the dilution and the interpass temperature. Lay straight, narrow beads and clean the slag off completely before every next layer.
