BÖHLER FOX FA is a basic coated, cored wire alloyed electrode of the E 25 4 B type for welding heat resistant steels and cast steel grades. The manufacturer directs it to furnaces that need improved resistance to reducing and oxidizing sulfurous gases, and to the final passes of weld joints.
The base materials are 1.4340 (GX40CrNi27-4), 1.4713 (X10CrAl7) and 1.4724 (X10CrAl13). The corrosion resistance matches that of similar molybdenum free 25Cr and 25CrNi alloys, and the deposit is scaling resistant up to 1100 degrees C.
- Classification EN ISO 3581-A: E 25 4 B 2 2
- Coating: basic
- Current: DC+
- Diameters: 2.5 / 3.2 / 4.0 mm
- Lengths: 300 and 350 mm
- Approvals: CE
Remember what this electrode does in the set with FOX FF and FOX FFB: you fill the joint with the austenitic electrode and lay the last layer, the one that meets the sulfur bearing flue gas, with FOX FA. Dry the electrodes before welding to the parameters the manufacturer gives. Weld on DC with the electrode positive and a short arc, and design the furnace structure with an allowance for thermal expansion.
