BÖHLER FOX Green is a rutile coated electrode of the E6012 type for tank construction and structural work. The manufacturer recommends it above all for thin sheet, in all welding positions, and with the 2.5 mm diameter you also work in the PG position, that is vertical-down.
The base material is the steels S235JRG2 to S355J2. The arc is soft, there is little spatter and the slag lifts off without effort. The electrode strikes reliably and returns to the arc just as reliably after a break, which counts for a good deal on short runs on thin sheet. The material carries the approval of the German railways DB.

On thin sheet set the current at the lower limit for the diameter and guide the electrode fast, without stopping, so as not to burn through the material. A soft arc forgives small deviations of angle, but with too long an arc the spatter comes back. On DC connect the holder to the negative pole. Clean rust and paint out of the groove and its immediate surroundings.
