BÖHLER FOX Multifer 180 is a high performance rutile coated electrode of the E7024 type with a weld metal recovery of 180 percent. The manufacturer recommends it above all for fillet welds in shipyards, machine building and steel structures.
The base steels are S235JRG2 to S355J2 as well as P235GH, P265GH, P295GH, P355GH and P355N. The amount of metal deposited is large, there is little spatter and the slag lifts by itself. The bead has a fine, even ripple. The electrode strikes without resistance and returns to the arc after a break, so work runs smoothly even with many short welds.

Make fillet welds in the flat or horizontal position, because with a recovery like this the pool is heavy and will not stay in place vertically. Rest the coating against the corner and drag the electrode evenly, without weaving, and the throat thickness comes out repeatable. Before you buy the 5.0 mm diameter, check what your welding set can carry. Prepare the surface at least roughly, even though a rutile coating tolerates minor contamination.
