BÖHLER FOX OHV is an electrode with a rutile-cellulosic coating, of the E6013 type, for welding in all positions, vertical-down included. The manufacturer names steel structures, vehicle building, boilers and tanks, shipyards and galvanised components. It is one of the more frequently chosen materials of this type in the workshop.
The base material is the steels S235JR to S355JR and S235JO to S355JO, the grades P195TR1 to P265TR1 and P195GH to P265GH, and the pipe grades L245NB to L360NB and L245MB to L360MB. A flexible coating and a low current draw make this an electrode for small welding sets, including those without elaborate control. It suits tacking very well, because the arc lights at once.

On galvanised parts work with good ventilation and remove as much zinc from the groove as you can, because the fumes are harmful and spoil the weld. Vertical-down, guide the electrode faster than usual, with a short arc. On a simple transformer set choose alternating current, on DC the holder goes to the negative pole. Keep the tacks short, two at each end of the part, and check the geometry before you make the weld proper.
