BÖHLER NiBAS 625 PW-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding nickel alloys. It works on boiler and furnace parts, chemical plant and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily. The deposit keeps its toughness in the cryogenic range, so the wire goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases, on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection, on chemical equipment, high-temperature plant and dissimilar joints between nickel alloys and steels.
- Classification EN ISO: T Ni 6625 P M 2
- AWS classification: ENiCrMo3T1-4
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
Degrease the joint before welding, sulphur and lead compounds left after machining lead to hot cracking in nickel. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
