BÖHLER NiCrMo 2,5-IG is a low-alloy, high strength TIG rod. It is used in machine building, crane structures and commercial vehicles.
Base materials are S620Q, S620QL, S690Q, S690QL, S620QL1, S690QL1 and ASTM A 514. The rod suits root runs, thin walls and smooth faced welds, and it goes into mobile equipment, machine frames, cranes and weight saving components.

Keep the heat input within the range the steel maker specifies, going above it lowers the strength of the joint. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
