BÖHLER Q T 309L is a high alloyed austenitic stainless TIG rod. Typical work covers tanks, process installations, food and chemical industry equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The rod suits grades such as P295GH and P355N. Its deposit has an austenitic structure that resists corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than you need to, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop.
