BÖHLER SAS 2-IG is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, pipework and austenitic steel structures where corrosion resistance matters.
The rod joins grades such as 1.4550, 1.4541, 1.4552, 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4312 and 1.4546, along with related materials. Its deposit keeps its impact toughness down to cryogenic temperatures and resists intergranular corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than you need to, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield.
