Application

What BÖHLER TI 70 PIPE-FD flux-cored wire is used for

BÖHLER TI 70 PIPE-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire for mild and low-alloy steels, fine-grained grades included. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.

Among the parent materials it covers S500N, S460NL, S500NL, S500NC, S550NC, L450MB and L485MB. The rutile core makes constrained positions easier and gives a calm, soft arc, and the wire works on welded structures, halls, frames, machine parts and repairs of structural steel.

  • Classification EN ISO: T 55 4 Mn1Ni P M 1H5
  • AWS classification: E91T1-M21A4-G
  • Diameters: 1.2 mm

Match the voltage to the wire feed speed, too low a setting gives a convex face and no fusion into the edges. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time.
