Thermanit 13/04 Si is a high alloyed martensitic TIG rod. It goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
The rod suits grades such as 1.4313, 1.4317, 1.4407, 1.4414 and UNS S41500. It also serves for cladding runs on steel, and its deposit has a martensitic structure.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
