Thermanit 14 K Si is a high-alloyed martensitic stainless solid wire. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
Typical parent materials are 1.4006, X10Cr13, 1.4000, X6Cr13 and AISI 410. The wire also suits cladding runs on steel, and the deposit has a martensitic structure.
- Classification EN ISO: 14343-A G Z 13
- AWS classification: A5.9 / SFA-5.9 ER410 (mod.)
- Shielding gas: M12, M13
- Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 mm
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
