What Thermanit 19/10 H solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Thermanit 19/10 H is a high-alloyed solid wire for service at high temperature. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

Among the parent materials it covers 1.4948, X6CrNi18-10, 1.4878, 1.4940, 1.4912, AISI 304H and 321H. The wire also suits cladding runs on steel, and it is meant for joints working at elevated temperature.

Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind.
