Thermanit 19/15 is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
Typical base materials are 1.4429, 1.4315, 1.4561, 1.5662, X8Ni9 and 1.6903. The rod also suits cladding runs on steel, its deposit resists intergranular corrosion, and TIG gives you full control over the heat input.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Set current and voltage to the thickness and position, and try them on a test piece before production.
