Thermanit 21/33 So is a high alloyed austenitic stainless TIG rod. It goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld. The deposit has an austenitic structure that resists corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than you need to, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. A change of shielding mixture changes how the arc behaves, so try it on a test piece before production. When you work to a qualified procedure, check that the filler matches what the WPS states.
