Thermanit 22/09 is a high alloyed TIG rod for duplex steels. It goes into tanks, pipelines and chemical or marine structures that need strength and corrosion resistance at the same time.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld. The rod also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces and runs well on robot and mechanised stations.
Do not quench the joint with water or force the cooling, too fast a cooling rate leaves too much ferrite in the weld. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance.
